UMNaction strives to create a network of individuals within the Nebraska Annual Conference who want to be a voice for the church in matters related to the Nebraska Legislature. Through this network, we will create a connection of grassroots advocates to contact state senators regarding issues that the church works on. Our state senators live among us, and in many cases, United Methodists have personal relationships with these public officials. This network will help educate and mobilize our members to use these relationships to spread our work of social justice. We will work closely with our current partners in ministry on social action. These organizations include Nebraska Appleseed, Voices for Children, and The Center for Rural Affairs.
By signing up for this network, you will receive at a minimum of one email per month on issues that relate to the witness of the United Methodist Church in Nebraska. You will get updated on current issues before the legislature and actions that you can take to be a visible witness in your community. Also as part of the network, you will receive late breaking action alerts that will contain time sensitive information. This breaking action alerts will normally only occur when the legislature is in session. In addition to the email network, feel free to follow us on Twitter by following @UMNaction.
