We wish to express our thanks and appreciation to the 281 churches that reached the 100 percent Mission Share goal in 2011. Mission Share dollars are used within the Nebraska United Methodist Church to fund shared ministries that provide effective clergy and lay leaders, promote church growth and vibrancy, and fund missions across our state, country and world. We are grateful for those congregations that contributed above and beyond the 100 percent expectation through the challenge fund and we greatly value your partnership and connectional ties. Our resources come from God and we express our thanks through our financial resources. Thank you for your stewardship and generosity!
Dear United Methodist Church Treasurers and Pastors,
As you know, the UMdashboard has been available for use by Nebraska United Methodist Churches since April 2010. Many of you are using this electronic tool to assist you in your ministry and have asked why the Conference continues to send hard copies of the mission share statement and health/pension statement on a monthly basis. Many of you have indicated that it saves time, money, resources, and it is much more convenient for you.
Beginning December 1, 2011, the monthly mission share statements and the monthly health/pension statements will no longer be mailed to treasurers or churches. Some of the reasons include a cost savings in printing and mailings, a wiser use of staffing resources, and the general ease with which people are gaining in the use of electronic media.
The advantages to you are the fact that these statements can be viewed and accessed by you 24 hours per day, you are able to print as many copies as you need for your work, and you will no longer have to wait for the mail to arrive before remitting payment for these responsibilities.
Conference staff members will strive to post these statements by the fifth day of each month allowing you ample opportunity to make payment before the end of that particular month. While this is a new and changed process, we want you to be ready for the change if you aren’t already. Each local church and/or pastor should have access to this information already.
However, if you are unable to access the UMdashboard follow these suggestions, simply click on the “Pastors” link at the top of this website. Thirdly, log on using the “UMdashboard” link. After trying this, if you are still unable to connect, watch this tutorial video on UMtube. If you are still having connectivity issues, please contact Jesse Foster at jfoster01@umcneb.org or 1-800-435-6107, Ext. 109.
Thank you for your service to the local church and all that you do for the United Methodist Church in Nebraska.
Your partner in ministry,
Robin Kilgore, Conference Treasurer/Director of Administrative Services
