Goals and Objectives

1. Promote participation in Volunteers In Mission throughout the Nebraska Conference.
   
   • Publicize VIM team opportunities and experiences using Conference communication tools.
     
   • Work with local churches to increase the awareness and understanding of VIM.
     
   • Develop a VIM Speakers Bureau and offer VIM Sunday worship materials.
     
   • Organize a one-week VIM itineration in at least one district.
   
   
2. Support and assist youth involvement/understanding of VIM.
   
   • Work with the Conference Youth Council to increase youth involvement in United Methodist VIM projects.
     
   • Provide leadership resources for youth VIM mission teams.
   
   
3. Organize and resource VIM teams from Nebraska.
   
   • Recruit and train team leaders for both Conference and local church VIM teams.
     
   • Provide leadership resources, site information and team forms.
     
   • Promote two national and two international VIM projects among Nebraska teams.
   
   
4. Gather information about VIM experiences and participants from Nebraska to report to the General Board of Global Ministries.
   
5. Develop receiving sites in Nebraska to receive teams from other Conferences.
