Prayer request from Hispanic Committee
Grace and peace to everyone,I'd like to echo brother Fred Anderson's message and also add just a few words from what I think is one of the best teams in our annual conference. Indeed, the recent workshop was very meaningful for the Hispanic Ministries development.
This workshop helped us to plan a strategy to launch our ministry in Nebraska with such an impact that in five years forward we will see faith communities increasing along the Conference, it really encouraged us and gave us a clearer vision and more acurate direction to move forward.
We must keep praying for each other and most importantly, we must pray with faith and boldness that our Lord Jesus Christ may raise us up into heavenly realms. We have to start moving to the conquest of this territory and to claim thousands of lost souls for God's kingdom. Let us hold out in prayer asking our Lord to defeat our enemy and let us declare victroy in Jesus' name, beloved.
Let's get up and fight the spiritual warfare in the name of our Lord!

Immigration work
Nebraska United Methodists have an opportunity to be involved in risk-taking mission and justice work with immigrants among us. You may choose to become a volunteer at a United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Justice for our Neighbors (JFON) center in Nebraska and/or become an advocate to make immigration policy more just. The Nebraska Conference presently has two JFON centers— in Columbus and in Omaha. For more information, go to gbgm-umc.org/umcor/refugees/justiceforourneighbors.cfm. Both centers are operated from one phone number, 402-898-1349.
The Mission of JFON is:
• Justice For Our Neighbors (JFON) is a faith-driven ministry, welcoming immigrants into our churches and communities by providing free, high-quality immigration legal services, education, and advocacy.
• To promote education for ministry and advocacy as an integral part of the JFON program and to encourage deeper theological reflection on biblical imperatives that clarify the moral issues raised by U.S. immigration policy and by our nation's treatment of newcomers.
In Lincoln, contact the Center for Legal Immigration Assistance (formerly Equity in Nebraska) at 402-471-1777. The center offers immigration-related legal services to low-income immigrants and refugees as well as education and outreach to help Nebraskans lend a hand to new neighbors.
