Health Ministry Committee

PURPOSE:
To guide leadership in Nebraska United Methodist Churches in creating, mobilizing and advocating health and wellness ministries in the Wesleyan tradition, recognizing the wellness of the whole person; body mind and spirit.

Goals and Objectives

1. Provide resources for local churches to assist in the development of Health Ministry committees to promote whole person health.
   
   a. Through electronic and print media
   b. Through a display at annual conference
   
   
2. Promote Health Ministry networking and sharing of ideas between local United Methodist Churches.
   
   a. Develop database of contact persons for Health Ministries in local congregations.
   b. Recognize and promote best practice Health Ministry models in local churches.
   
   
3. Work cooperatively with ecumenical health ministry organizations, such as the NE Health Ministry Association, on health issues that challenge our NE Conference.
   
   
4. Have one or more members of the NE Conference Health Ministry Committee attend the United Methodist National Congregational Health Ministries Conference, and share information gained with Health Ministry Committee.
