The Safe Sanctuary Basic Course covers all aspects of abuse safety. Course attendees will be educated on the different types of abuse and their warning signs. The course will also cover what measures and/or policies and procedures should be in place to prevent the possibility of abuse in church programs and at church events. The role of the homily in worship is changing. Often contemporary worship focuses on music to the near exclusion of the sermon. For others, the sermon is the most significant portion of the service. A Train the Trainer Safe Sanctuaries course will be held Sunday, March 11, from 1-4 p.m., at the Conference Center in Lincoln (3333 Landmark Circle).
